The Assurance of Things Hoped For And The Conviction of Things Unseen.

This declaration from the New Testament baffled me while studying the great books in University.

When my therapist told me I had to pretend I was Indian Jones facing the edge of an infinite drop.. Do you remember that scene where he is told to step off a cliff onto a bridge that will appear once he steps into the void. I had my doubts. I believed in her. She was right.

Any connection to the teachings of Christianity were abandoned years ago. Now I find myself revisiting the new Testament.

I practice yoga breathing in and out deliberately. I have discovered breath work. Both are guided journeys into self, release, and creation. We all practice some version of this as we drink coffee and create lists of responsibilities, supplies to be gathered, or calendars planned. If you are lucky, this creative process is an unraveling of the Hollywood version of your life this moment ,this week, and this year.

All of this is accessible to us. So my question to myself was "why am I not living my Hollywood movie story all the time?"

This brought me back to faith and belief. The step into the void takes faith and belief. We require bravery. We require conviction in ourselves to act as if. I can do endless practices feeling confident and peaceful in myself but can I act. Can I stand with the souls that surround me receiving and giving strength to each others conviction.

 Am I participating in faith?
